Excitement Builds As Spring Fling Date Draws Near

Doll makers are making dolls. Musicians are rehearsing. Craftspersons and artists are reminding one another that now is the time to register as a Vendor for KSA's Spring Fling on May 5th. The Vendor form and details are available here: 2012 Spring Fling.

The public is also a-buzz about this Art Fair. We remember fondly the great entertainment and wonderful creations of the previous KSA Flings. We look forward to having another terrific time in the Punalu'u Bake Shop Gardens. As always, buying lunch or a treat at the Bake Shop is always a temptation fulfilled. We regret that KSA will not be providing sweet treats or foodstuffs at our event.

Ka'u School of the Arts Kicks Off 2012 Strong

All our activities are free and open to the public of all ages. We continue to welcome additional people into all our activities.

A group gathered for the first practice of Singing Beatles. Ka'u Community Chorus rehearses each Monday evening from 7-8 at Discovery Harbour Community Hall. The Circulo for Speaking Spanish consisted of a dozen students at our first class. We meet Mondays 10-11 at DHCH. The Pohai for Speaking Hawaiian has begun with around a dozen students, that's Tuesdays, 6:30-8 at DHCH. Also, Ka'u 'Ohana Band has grown and continues band practice Wednesdays and Thursdays, 3:30-4:30 at OVCC. The Line Dance Classes will begin shortly as well.

On the horizon on the first two Saturdays in March, the Creativity Days, which this year will include a rainbow of free student participation activities as well as a Show of New Works. Then on May 5, our Annual Spring Fling in conjunction with Punalu'u Bake Shop. This season, in addition to local music and locally produced arts and crafts, and our big Keiki Korner, we will feature a Free Mother's Day Treat for all the mothers attending.

KSA exists for Ka'u. We welcome you to participate in the arts with us.
